Moodle Course Example

Below is an example of how you might implement Moodle in your organisation in an efficient and timely manner.

The information is provided for learners in a number of different formats to address users' differing Learning Styles.

The assessement at the end is engaging and fun, but is also automatically marked and tracked within the Moodle grade book, basically providing a "Self Containing" learning module.

This type of course is appropriate for areas of learning that are pretty straight forward, and the users know the material and basically want to the competency completed as quickly as possible. OHS&W is a clear example; how often do we spend hours teaching "What is a Risk?" and "What year was the SA OHS&W Act enabled?".

Obviously for topics of deeper learning, the structure can be expanded and different tools such as forums, chats, wikis, groups etc can also be implemented.

Canadian Moodle Moot 07

The first ever Canadian Moodle Moot (Conference) was held in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in early May 2007.

A four day event that was originally planned to be held in Athabasca, but was soon moved to Edmonton after a huge attendance response, which led to a sell-out conference.

Frances Long from Knowplace.com was the main organiser of the Moodle Moot.

Only two Australians attended the Moodle Moot, Martin Dougiamas (the founder of Moodle) and Richard Wallace from Wallace Web Design and Development (WWDaD). Richard presented papers about SCORM Objects within Moodle as well as demonstrating the Moodle work he has done in Sydney for the Sydney Olympic Park Authority - Geography Learning Challenge.
